Zoon's debut album Bleached Wavves is a meditation on trauma, substance abuse and healing
Musician Daniel Monkman, who records under the name Zoon, plays a style of music he calls “moccasin gaze.” It’s a dreamy take on psychedelic rock with layered guitars that he uses to great effect on his critically-acclaimed debut album, Bleached Wavves. On the new record, Zoon grapples with the years of trauma and substance abuse that followed him throughout his youth. He joined Tom Power to talk about his music and how his healing story could be helpful to others.
