Ken Burns tries to make sense of the pandemic with a poem for his youngest daughter
Filmmaker Ken Burns has spent his career documenting seismic changes in American history, from the Civil War to Prohibition. Outside of work, Burns is also a parent. These days, he’s self-isolating at home trying to make sense of the pandemic for his youngest daughter, Willa. He’s done that not with a documentary, but through poetry. Burns joined Tom Power from New Hampshire to read the poem he wrote for his daughter, titled In the Social Distance, and also share his thoughts on this moment in time.
