My Playlist explores the whys and wherefores behind the lives of some of Canada's finest musicians from a variety of musical genres -- Lynn Miles, the Juno award-winning singer and songwriter hailing from Ottawa, ON by way of Cowansville, Quebec. There are lots of ways to judge the importance of an artist: awards, recordings, longevity, peer appreciation/admiration. Well, Lynn Miles has all that… and it’s something she’s certainly earned. From her debut self-titled cassette tape demo in 1987 to “Road” -- her latest live solo recording -- Lynn has released more than a dozen albums. Throughout her well-accomplished career one attribute that has stuck with her is the ability to write melodies that stick with listeners, accompanied by lyrics that cut to the core of their hearts. It should come as no surprise that a songwriter as great as Lynn is also a great storyteller. From heartfelt introductions with respected artists to doing gigs in bars as a teen-ager, take a listen as Lynn shares thoughtful anecdotes about some of the songs and artists that have formed the playlist to her life.
