Three pages discussing LGBTQ inclusion in the Mennonite Bretheren church removed, to author's surprise
12:25
When Mary Anne Isaak was asked to write a chapter for a book collecting the life stories of women in leadership in the Mennonite Bretheren church, she was elated. The book is called "On Holy Ground" and it seemed like a great way to share her story. But shortly after it was initially published, she was surpised to learn that the books were recalled because of three pages in her chapter. Those pages discussed her and her church's support for LGBTQ inclusion. And now, in the new version, they're no longer there. She spoke with host Marcy Markusa about why she still loves her church community despite the controversy, and hopes the issue will move the conversation forward on LGBTQ+ inclusion in the church.
