Egyptian dancer says UNESCO status would revive the art form many know as 'belly dance'

Amie Sultan began her career as a ballerina, but learned to embrace Egyptian dance after a performance challenged her own perceptions about the art form. Now an arts collective she founded is leading a push to have what's commonly known as "belly dance" added to UNESCO's Lists of Intangible Cultural Heritage. She spoke to As It Happens guest host Helen Mann.
