Bill C-15 and The United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP)
Five years ago, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission called on all levels of government to “fully adopt and implement” the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People (UNDRIP). Earlier this year, the Liberal government tabled legislation to do that. But it's not without controversy. We heard from Wendy Lerat, an Indigenous studies professor and member of the Mother Earth Justice Advocates, Wes George from Ochapowace (who has worked on UNDRIP for decades) and Andre Bear, an Indigenous law student.
