Should vaccine priority be based on something other than age?
Many groups across the province are asking the government to change how vaccines are distributed. Right now, it's mainly been frontline health workers and then by age in descending order, but groups are asking for those whose jobs put them at the highest risk to be next in line to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
We heard from Dr. Alex Wong, several groups who would like to be prioritized including nursing students, service industry workers, etc. We were also joined by Dan Florizone, he's the former Deputy Minister of Health. He was the president and CEO of the Saskatoon Health Region. He's now the executive-in-residence with the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.
