The rise of domestic violence in Saskatchewan during the pandemic
Domestic violence, including intimate partner violence is already a major issue in our province and our country and the pandemic is created new challenges. Today, we have several guests who know this all too well. We heard from Kendra Weenie, she shared her personal experience with IPV and her message of hope and healing. We heard from the provincial association of Transition houses (PATHS) and the domestic violence coordinator for the RCMP as well as former Senator Lillian Dyck, who has worked tirelessly to have changes made to the Criminal Code that would make sure violence against Indigenous women was treated seriously by the courts.
