Matthew Mukash gives an update on the wind and hydro energy
For 11 years, some Cree and Inuit residents in Whapmagoostui have been working on a plan to switch from diesel generators... to wind and hydro energy. Matthew Mukash is the president of the Kuujjuarapik-Whapmagoostui Renewable Energy Corporation. He says they're hoping to reach an agreement with Hydro Quebec this month. We had a chance to speak with him recently when I visited his community.
He provided me with an update on their project.
