Advocates call for femicide to be added to the Criminal Code of Canada

At the conclusion of a recent inquest into the deaths of three Ontario women, the jury recommended the term 'femicide' be added to the Criminal Code of Canada. Pamela Cross, an Ontario-based lawyer and expert on violence against women, says distinguishing femicide from other types of homicide is one step on the path toward ending gender-based violence.
