Sandra Murdock, originally from Cold Lake, AB, has been announced as the winner of the 2018 CBC Nonfiction Prize. Sandra won the grand prize for "Easy Family Dinners" and now she gets a residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
Alberta had a very good showing for the 2018 prize, as two of the runners-up also have connections to the province. Kat Main of Calgary won for "How to Catch a Nightcrawler," and Lee Thomas (born in Whitecourt and now residing in Calgary) was a finalist for True Trans.
