On Wednesday, September 19, a panel of creator and advocates will host a fundraiser and open discussion on the issue of human trafficking.
Calgary foundations, BRAVE and the Canadian Children Optimist Foundation want to raise, not just awareness, but action on this serious problem that the group says is far more omnipresent than the public would like to think.
One of the speakers at the event is Calgary career psychologist and novelist, Laura Hambley Lovett. In her books, "Losing Cadence" and "Finding Sophie," she deals with the human trafficking and its effects.
In advance of the event, she came by the CBC studio to speak with Russell.
Tickets for "Not On My Watch" are available through Eventbrite.
