Recipe: The True North Cocktail
This year marks Canada's 150th birthday, and we are starting the celebrations now! Toast the milestone with a Canadian-inspired whisky cocktail proudly entitled "The True North" created by The Drake's Cocktail Ambassador Gord Hannah.

This year marks Canada's 150th birthday, and we are starting the celebrations now! Toast the milestone with a Canadian-inspired whisky cocktail proudly entitled "The True North" created by The Drake's Cocktail Ambassador Gord Hannah.
The True North is a twist on The Drake’s popular cocktail “The Urban Sprawl” But the secret ingredient in The True North is the maple ginger grapefruit syrup.
Ingredients
- 2 oz whiskey
- 1 oz lime juice
- ¾ oz maple ginger grapefruit syrup
- ¼ oz fernet branca
- 2 dashes angostura bitters
- Star anise, to garnish
- Lots of ice
Preparation
Add all ingredients except for the garnish to a shaker. Fill with ice. Shake, strain and serve.
