Whether you're rocking a teddy bear coat or an oversized topper this winter, the key to dealing with the year's wild temperature fluctuations and extreme-weather days is by making sure that you accessorize with care. From lined gloves to moisture-wicking hats to fashionable balaclavas, more is generally better when it comes to staying warm on the go.

So, practicing strategic layering! That and embracing innovative materials when it comes to winter accessories will help you feel comfortable longer when outdoors, and stay warm even when you want to leave the parka at home for outerwear that's a little more tailored.

Bright eyed

If you have a basic black or grey winter coat, adding high-contrast accessories is an easy way to liven up your outerwear. The effect can be even more startling if you pair bold colours in unexpected combinations, or layered on top of a bright jacket!

Down time
