DIY Seedlings

Create a hanging planter to hang in your window and grow seedlings all year around.

Here's what you'll need:

  • Masking tape
  • Lighter
  • Craft knife
  • Brush
  • Sponge brush 
  • Water jar
  • Mixing bowl
  • Paint
  • Drill
  • Recycled bottles
  • Rope
  • Seedlings
  • Gloves
  • Soil and spade

Here's how to do it:

  1. Tape bottles to create paint design.
  2. Paint on first colour and allow to dry.
  3. Sponge on second colour to create ombre effect.
  4. Once bottles are dry cut in half.
  5. Drill two holes in sides of the bottles.
  6. Thread rope through bottles and tie a knot after each hole to hold into place.
  7. Melt ends of rope to seal.
  8. Fill each bottle with soil.
  9. Plant the seed and water well.
  10. Hang in a window with lots of light and water regularly.
