Central Labrador's Community Freezer

Thanksgiving is over, and so is World Food Day. But there are people working year round to make sure Labradorians have access to food. Yesterday we spoke with Martha Winters Abel about some of the programs on Labrador’s North coast. They include community freezers stocked with country food, and in some cases dry goods. There are a few community freezers in the Upper Lake Melville area as well. And it’s not easy to keep them stocked. CBC reporter Matt McCann checked in at the freezer in Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
