You might be used to seeing WWE star John Cena wrestling his way to victory in action-packed movies or the wrestling ring.

It turns out that, all along, he was trying to wrestle his way into our hearts.

How?

By granting the most wishes ever to sick kids through the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

According to the charity and Guinness World Records, as of Sept. 20, Cena has granted 650 wishes to kids across the U.S.

And he set the record by a lot: No other person has granted more than 200 wishes.

Who is John Cena?

Cena began his career in professional wrestling in 1999 and has since gone on to become one of the most popular athletes of all time.

He is a 16-time world champion in the WWE, or World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.

He has held the WWE Championship 13 separate times, the World Heavyweight Championship three times and the United States Championship five times.

The WWE shouted out Cena’s accomplishment back in June, before the record was confirmed by Guinness.

In recent years, Cena has started to pursue acting more, including his roles in The Fast and Furious movie series and the TV show Peacemaker.

How do the wishes work?

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps fulfil the wishes of kids who have been diagnosed with a severe illness.

Kids between the ages of two and 18 can choose to meet a celebrity, go to an event or even give a gift to someone else.

As for Cena himself, he is the most-requested celebrity, according to Make-A-Wish.

He granted his first wish in 2002.

Why does he do it?

“If you ever need me for this [Make-A-Wish] ever, I don’t care what I’m doing, I will drop what I’m doing and be involved because I think that’s the coolest thing,” he said in an interview with Reuters back when he hit the 500-wish milestone.

“If I can offer a fantastic experience, I’ll be first in line to do my part,” he said.

While they are with him, kids often take photos and just hang out with Cena.

He is also known to bring merch, such as WWE champion rings and belts for the kids.
