CBC Kids News talked to the staff in the Jacksonville, Florida, office of ophthalmologist and surgeon Dr. Jeffrey Levenson. They confirmed the surgeon did perform the surgeries for MrBeast.

As the video gained trending YouTube status, some criticized MrBeast, saying that he was using blind people to get views and make money. It’s weird.”
Others said what really deserved the hate was the U.S. health-care system. In the U.S., extended hospital stays and surgeries can become very expensive if you do not have private health insurance. This is unlike Canada where we have universal health-care coverage.
