What if the news is sad, scary or brings about another difficult emotion? That’s when we lean on the CBC Kids News Advisory Committee. We’ve asked experts from a few key organizations in Canada to use their knowledge in child development to support us in our planning and help guide our decisions on sensitive stories. Final editorial decisions always rest with the CBC Kids News team.

 

Andrew King, Director of Communications, Canadian Teachers Federation  The Canadian Teachers’ Federation represents more than 300,000 elementary and secondary school teachers from across Canada. Being part of the CBC Kids News advisory committee provides the CTF/FCE with an opportunity to share the expertise of teachers.

Carrie Bradish, Clinical Practice Specialist Team Lead, Kids Help Phone Kids Help Phone is Canada’s only 24/7 e-mental health service offering free, confidential support in English and French. Hearing from young people every day, we can help provide insight for CBC Kids News into current issues concerning young people.
