Do you feel comfortable talking about your own mental health? Canadian kids weigh in. Here’s a sample of the responses they shared with CBC Kids News.
Yes, I feel comfortable talking about my mental health because there are people in my life that I can trust and they would be able to help me.
Sometimes, it is difficult for me to talk about my own health because I don’t know exactly how to explain how I’m feeling. It comes out in a jumble and people may not understand me.
No, I don’t feel comfortable talking about my mental health because I am afraid of being judged or told there are other people out there who have it worse than I do. Everyone is fighting their own battles.
It depends on who I am talking to. I feel comfortable talking to an adult or someone older about my mental health, but sometimes I feel like people my own age have no clue what I’m talking about or how to help me.
