Started playing basketball at age 13 when her parents asked her to pick an extracurricular activity for summer vacation.
Basketball runs in the family: brother Patrick is an assistant basketball coach at Ryerson University and younger sister Alisha was also a member of the Canadian basketball team at the London Olympics 2012.
