Why They're Awesome

Started diving at age 5 so her brother would think she was cool

At age 16, Jennifer competed at the Beijing Olympics in 2008, making her one of the youngest divers ever to compete in the Olympic Games.

Inspired by Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt for his desire to surpass himself even though he is already the best.

Diving

Synchro has 11 judges: 3 that judge diver “A”, 3 that judge diver ”B”, and 5 that critique the synchronization of the dive.

Divers should typically look alike, with similar builds, heights and skills. This is important in that the dive can be executed at a similar height and speed.

The two dives can be different from one another, but they have to rotate on a similar axis.
