Did you know that there's a National Moon Day? That's right — every year, July 20th commemorates the day a human first walked on the moon way back in 1969.

That day, the Apollo 11 lunar module landed and the first humans to walk on the surface of the moon were Americans Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.

The whole planet watched the event on television as they walked around in their spacesuits and Armstrong declared his famous line that it was "one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind."
