IslandMorning2013.jpgFive young ball players from P.E.I. will be going to Japan this summer to learn more about the game and meet other players from 15 countries. These players had to earn the trip, not with their bats or gloves, they had to write an essay to get in on the trip.

William Lyons and Caleb Drake from Cardigan. Christopher MacDougall and Jackson Sherren from Cornwall. Landon Gallant or Richmond. And chaperone/coach Blair Creelman is from Summerside.

PEI's Soccer 1 Academy going to Scotland

PEISoccer1Academy.jpgPEI's Soccer 1 Academy is taking its Under 18 boys to Scotland in a few weeks. This will give its players a chance to play against professional European soccer clubs and a chance to become a professional soccer player. Coach Graeme McDonald and Player Sam Smiley joined us in the studio.

Tourism Numbers - Don Cudmore of TIAPEI

DonCudmoreTourism.jpgPeak tourism season has wrapped up on PEI... and the province has been paying close attention to how many people we brought to the Island this year and where they were spending their cash.

The numbers suggest the season was on par with last year. But unfortunately, last year had the lowest tourism numbers since 2006. For his perspective on this, we're joined now by Don Cudmore, he's executive director of the Tourism Industry Association of PEI.
