Music Monday - Special Performance

Communities from across Canada will join together on "Music Monday" to sing the same song at the same time. It's an effort to promote music education. A special performance is taking place in Charlottetown this afternoon at Trinity United Church. It features a four-hundred voice children's choir representing nine schools, the Montague Senior High School Choir, and the Montague Intermediate School Band. Parts of the performances from each province will be live-streamed on the web.

This morning 11 students from Stratford Elementary who are in the choir, and we also have Choir director Kelsea MacLean, and one of the event co-ordinators Don Quarles.

Kelley Mooney's Hallelujah on GodTube

This past Easter Weekend, Islander Kelley Mooney's version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah went viral online with over 6.6 million hits on GodTube... and it's still going strong.

Kelley joined us in the studio to tell us how this version has taken off... and what it means to her and to her recording career.

East Coast Music Awards 2014

It was a busy week of music, events and parties. Last night the East Coast Music Awards Gala took place last night at the Charlottetown Convention Centre... and included some big Island winners. Here are some of the local ECMA winners. Julia Cook recaps the event and awards.
