A cancer diagnosis is difficult for anyone to hear including when the news is about your pet. Cancer in cats and dogs is similar in many ways - in diagnosis and treatment - as it is for human patients. But an animal's shorter life span also means that the goal of treatment is sometimes more complicated. Pets and Cancer is the topic of this month's episode of Pets and People. These monthly segments are organized with help from the Companion Animal Welfare Initiative.
