Hundreds of Prince Edward Islanders with
student loans are worried about the fate of their private information after a major security breach.
A Human Resources and Skills Development Canada office lost an external hard drive containing personal information for 583 thousand Canada Student Loan borrowers. About 4500 Islanders are affected. The information includes borrowers' names, dates of birth, Social Insurance Numbers, addresses and student loan balances. Amanda Thoy from Charlottetown is a UPEI grad. She's frustrated by the privacy breach, and the lack of information from the federal government. She told her story to the CBC's Matt Rainnie.
Then we heard from Alyson Queen in Ottawa. She's Director of Communications for Minister Diane Finley.
