
Sixty-nine island communities go to the polls November 5th. PEI's Municipal Affairs minister is encouraging more islanders to put their names on the ballot, including more women. Currently, 31% of the seats are held by women. That's better than the 30% target set by a committee of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities working on increasing women candidates.
