Grilled Figs with Amaretto

Wow your guests with this simple yet elegant dessert at your next dinner party. Instead of grilling, you can also roast the fresh figs under the broiler for a few minutes.


10 to 12 figs, cut in half
Vegetable oil, as needed
4 tbsp. amaretto
4 tbsp. honey
1 cup Greek yogurt
4 to 8 amaretti cookies, crumbled


Preheat grill to medium. Clean grill well and brush lightly with oil.

Brush cut side of figs with oil and place cut side down on grill. Cook, just until grill marked, about 2 minutes.

Add grilled figs to bowl and toss with amaretto.

Plate figs with some of the amaretto and then drizzle with honey, dollop of Greek yogurt and garnish with crumbled amaretti cookies.

Yield: 4 servings.
