Turning Points

At Toronto Pearson International Airport, host Dale Curd speaks with people who have lived through unexpected and often shocking events, leading them to re-evaluate their lives and appreciate those that they care about.

ACT 1:

Toronto Argonaut Brandon is waiting for his mom who is coming to meet her new grandchild. Brandon tells the story of how his mother barely escaped with her life during the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

ACT 2:
It's Wolfgang's birthday and he's waiting for his daughter and granddaughter to arrive from Germany to celebrate with him. He lived through the Cold War in East Germany and details the oppressive regime and how he executed his escape to Canada.
Melanie says goodbye to her to eldest son as he leaves to spend the summer in Vancouver with his grandmother. This is the first time Melanie has been apart from either of her two children since her husband passed from away last year from a heart attack.

ACT 3:
Leilani's father has recently gone through treatment for multiple myeloma, during which time she was her father's main caregiver. The experience has brought them closer together but Leilani has recently learned that the cancer has returned and now awaits the arrival of her mother who has come to support her during this difficult time.
