One month to Episode Ten-Ten

Posted on Dec 15, 2016

We have the equivalent of a full month's wait (31 days) until January 15, 2017. That is the Sunday when episode 1010 airs on CBC.

Production has wrapped for the year and so with no immediate upcoming episode to talk about and no tales of production to entertain you with I am going to give you something different this Thursday.

As I sifted through my list of things I think Heartland fans might find interesting I realized that over the years there have been a lot of photos taken on set. Some have not been posted on this blog page for years and some may have never been seen before.

So - I decided that occasionally on this Thursday blog I will post series of photos with a theme from the past decade of Heartland.

First up is Jack and Lisa, or "Jisa" as fans have labelled them on our social media sites. I've never been a fan of the name merging thing, but if one is going to do it I suppose "Jisa" is better than "Lack."

Since a baker's dozen is 13 then I guess I am giving you a Blog Whisperer's 10-pack of photos (which is actually 11). These are images of Jack (Shaun Johnston) and Lisa (Jessica Steen) from season 1 through the years to the current season.

I hope you enjoy them. I know some of you most certainly will.

In other news, I have three things to mention...

1) Again - the next new episode of Heartland (1010) will air across Canada on CBC on Sunday, January 15. For those of you who missed episode 1009 when it first aired, it will have a repeat broadcast the preceding Sunday (January 8) at the regular scheduled time of 7:00pm (7:30NT).

This way you can catch up and get ready for the next new episode when it airs the following Sunday on the 15th.

2) Last week I mentioned there was going to be a new broadcaster in the United States. Here's the scoop -

Season 9 has been broadcast or is being broadcast in the US on the following networks: UP; LeSEA; The CW Plus, Family, Retro and (not a joke) the Heartland Network. Next year these networks should be getting season 10.

But what about Americans who have never seen Heartland before and wish to watch it daily - from the beginning?

Mark Burnett and Roma Downey have a new venture called "Light TV," which debuts Dec. 22 on KTTV in Los Angeles and early in 2017 will expand to other Fox-owned and -operated stations covering 37 percent of the U.S. viewing public.

Light TV is described as a faith and family broadcast entertainment network and they will be airing Heartland daily from the start of the series.

Besides KTTV in Los Angeles, Fox stations scheduled to carry Light TV are: New York (WNYW); Chicago (WFLD); Philadelphia (WTXF); Dallas (KDFW); Houston (KRIV); San Francisco, CA (KTVU); Washington, D.C. (WTTG); Atlanta (WAGA); Orlando, Fla. (WOFL); Phoenix (KSAZ); Minneapolis (KMSP); and Charlotte (WJZY), N.C. More are very likely to be added.

So America - if you have friends you want to recommend television's favourite family series to, now is your chance. Tell them to look up Light TV when in launches in their community and check out the time it plays.

3) Except for DVDs there has not been any official Heartland merchandising available. That is no longer the case.

A line of hoodies featuring the Heartland logo are now available at wearheartland.com. More items will be added in the near future, but the website is up, so I thought you'd want to check it out.

So that's it for me Heartlanders. I'll be back next Thursday with more photos and news and to wish you a happy holiday season. Until then I remain - as always - obediently yours.
