Fan Extras Day news as we race to Oct 2

Posted on Sep 8, 2016

Well this blog today is pretty well going to be devoted to the big Fan Extras Day, which I am happy to announce is going to be TUESDAY, SEPT 27.

Tomorrow – Friday, September 9 hundreds of emails will be going out to those who initially applied via email to be part of a big scene in season 10. Please – no one needs to apply again. Instructions will be sent out including location, releases to be filled out and advice on what to wear and bring. It’s going to be a fun day for any Heartland fan who shows up!

Please note: Once production has sent out the emails to those who are being invited to attend the September 27 filming day I will put up a tweet on Twitter and a post on Facebook advising all that the notifications have gone out so that will serve both as a confirmation to those who applied quickly enough (fans are accepted on a first come basis) and to those who were not in time. So watch for news on this tomorrow.

Now let’s talk countdown, because we are – at the time of this blog post- 24 days away from the October 2 premiere of episode 1001 on CBC Television. Is this getting exciting, or what? The photo accompanying this blog? It is indeed from the first episode of season 10 and as you can see Kevin (Mitch), Chris (Tim) and Graham (Ty) are out there in front of the barn. I wonder who is giving sage-like advice to who?

Soon I will have more – many more photos from upcoming episodes to show everyone. Watch for them. A reminder, which I mentioned in previous blogs - On Saturday, September 10, Michelle Morgan, Amber Marshall and Shaun Johnston will be doing a Live Q&A Fundraiser at Symons Valley Ranch in Calgary. Tickets will be available at the door for $25. Anyone purchasing a ticket will receive an autographed Heartland photo. Doors will open at 1:00pm and the event will go from 2:00pm to 4:00pm but be sure to get there early as seating is limited and will only be available on a first come, first basis. Funds raised will be used to bring a Syrian refugee family to Calgary. If you are in the Calgary area this should be a lot of fun, and it’s for a great cause.

Also, something else I mentioned earlier – On Sunday. September 11, Alisha Newton will be making her first live television appearance at the Canadian Country Music Awards in London, Ontario. The CCMAs will be televised on CBC. Watch for it; it’ll help get Canada into the routine of watching CBC on Sunday evening, something that will pay off dividends on October 2 when Heartland’s new season premieres.

That’s it for me for this week, Heartlanders. I’ll be back next Thursday with some more tick… tick… ticking away news as we sneak up ever so slowly to a new season of televison’s favourite family drama.

Until then I remain, as always, obediently yours.
