The Heartland on CBC Facebook page has reached 400,000 likes! The success of the series is due, in no small part, to the dedication of its fans. And many of you have been following Heartland since it first aired in the fall of 2007. From everyone involved in the series, thank you so much for your loyalty! PS:  We also have a Twitter, Instagram and a Youtube page, all of which are great places for extra Heartland content.

That aside, this week we are going to answer some recent questions which have cropped up on Heartland's social media pages and some of these answers should settle a few things for many of you, as these questions have all been asked more than once.

First off - the titles to the last two episodes of season 12 can now be revealed. The title of episode 1210, which is being filmed as you read this is "All Hearts Lead Home." It was written by Heather Conkie and is being directed by Eleanore Lindo. Episode 1211's title is "Room to Grow." The script was written by Mark Haroun and will be directed by Dean Bennett.

Also, the new season of Heartland (season 12) is currently in production and has 11 episodes. The new season will premiere this winter. The exact date has not been announced yet.

Here are some more answers to things that have come up on Heartland's social media pages:

  • Netflix has different catalogues in every country where they operate. Season 11 is already available in many countries; in the United States it will be added in August, 2019.
  • To learn when Heartland is airing on any station or network other than the CBC please contact those stations or networks; they all have social media pages where they can respond to questions.
  • There are roughly 50 scenes, give or take a few, in a single episode of Heartland. A scene can be two minutes long, with dialog exchanged between two or more characters or it can be as simple as a short establishing shot of horses in a meadow.
  • The gallery photo shoot, which had some production images appear on the Heartland on CBC Twitter page, happens once every season. The resulting photographs are used for the poster as well as for the season 12 artwork, wherever it appears. Not every actor photographed was tweeted about. For example, Jessica Steen did have new photos taken of her this year.
  • Heartland is a Canadian one-hour television series. It is the longest running one-hour dramatic series in Canadian television history. Episode 1207 of Heartland will be the 200th episode of the series. That milestone episode, directed by Chris Potter, will likely air on CBC in Canada in late February or early March.
  • The series is filmed in and around Calgary in the province of Alberta. The Heartland Ranch and Dude Ranch sets are located near Millarville. Most rodeo and racetrack scenes are filmed at the Millarville racetrack. Scenes in 'Hudson,' including Maggie's Diner and Tack are shot in the real town of High River. The interior scenes in the house, vet clinic and in Amy & Ty's loft are filmed in an enclosed studio in Calgary.
  • In Canada, the season 11 DVDs will be released for sale on October 2nd.
  • Filming will wrap on Heartland this year on October 1st. This year, the entire season will be nearly ready long before the winter premiere.
  • There has been no indication that season 12 will or won't be the final season of Heartland. Keep checking on Heartland's social media channels to find out more news in the future.

That's all for today. Next week's blog will contain more information and photos. Until then, have fun and be safe.
