4 New Episodes in March, starting this Sunday!

Posted on Mar 2, 2017

No more interuptions, Canada. There are four remaining Heartland season 10 episodes to be broadcast and there are four Sundays this month, so let's run the table and finish the season before month's end. If you have not already marked your calendars, here is how season 10 winds down...

This Sunday, March 5: NEW Episode 1015 (More on that in this blog).
Next Sunday, March 12: NEW Episode 1016.
The following Sunday, March 19: NEW Episode 1017.
The Sunday after that, March 26: NEW Season Finale, Episode 1018.

And then emptiness. A void, a gap or vacancy; a feeling of hollowness as we await the hopeful word that Heartland will have an eleventh season on CBC. We are no strangers to the anticipation. As season 7 ended we endured the "Wait for Eight." As season 8 drew to a close we suffered through the "Pine for Nine." One year ago we were crossing our fingers as we felt the "Yen for Ten." This year I'm skipping the rhyme and just calling it the "Season Eleven Watch". The bottom line is that I am very optimistic and sometime in the next few weeks I will let everyone know, one way or another, if my optimism is on solid ground.

I will go into detail on this Sunday's episode - "Forest for the Trees" - written by Ken Craw and directed by Eleanore Lindo in a little while, but first I need to get five things (5, count 'em) out of the way.

1) This Sunday morning the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television will announce the three finalists for the Canadian Screen Awards' Fan's Choice Award. Our own Amy - Amber Marshall - is in the final ten and we'd all be tickled pink (what does that mean?) if she was announced as being one of these three finalists. The deadline for votes to be cast is 9:00am ET this Sunday, March 5. This means you have today, Friday, Saturday and the first few hours of Sunday to make Amber a finalist. Remember, every fan, anywhere can vote, and the Academy is encouraging you to vote for your favourite actor multiple times. I'm sure you've seen Amber's video on how she loves you fans (It is yesterday's post immediately prior to this one), so you can keep the love going by clicking here and voting again.

2) This Sunday is also the deadline for you to enter our giveaway of two of Jenn Grant's albums. It's easy and it's free and your chances of winning are enhanced by the 11 double album packages we are giving away. You just have to listen to the Heartland stream on CBC Radio and send an email with the time you hear either of Jenn's "Dreamer" or "White Horses." For full details please read my blog from last Thursday, which can be found here.

3) Next Saturday, March 11, there is going to be a Family Fan Day in Toronto and Heartland's Alisha Newton (Georgie) and Madison Cheeatow (Jade) will be there with stars from other television shows to meet fans and go crazy taking selfies. So that's next Saturday (as in 9 days) at the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts (1 Front Street East), from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Last year Graham Wardle went and had a riot. This year Alisha and Madison will represent Heartland well. It's free and they don't bite, so go meet them and have a good time.

4) Also next Saturday, March 11, Shaun Johnston (Jack Bartlett) will be making two appearances at the Camrose Regional Trade Show in Camrose, Alberta. First there will be a Fan Meet & Greet from 1:30pm - 4:30pm. There is no cost, as the Meet & Greet is included in the Trade Show admission price. And on the same evening Shaun will be presenting Songs & Stories with Shaun in the Exhibition's Banquet Hall. The show will run from 7:00pm - 9:00pm and tickets, which are $15, can be purchased here.

5) And lastly, for our friends in the United States, yesterday the UP Network announced they will be premiering season 10 beginning April 23. This is the fastest any Heartland season has been broadcast in America following the premiere run on CBC in Canada. Way to go UP!

Now that we have those BW housekeeping items out of the way let's talk about this Sunday's episode, which is just three days away and will air at the time honoured family hour on CBC Television - 7:00pm / 7:30pm in Newfoundland.

In this Sunday's NEW Heartland episode, Amy struggles with the feeling that something is not right with Ty while she and Jack strive to help Ghost, the wild Appaloosa horse which has been closely linked with Ty in past seasons. Meanwhile, Georgie goes on a fun date with Clay’s cousin, Wyatt (played by guest star Dempsey Bryk), which interestingly leads her to a realization about Adam. Also, a concerned Tim steps up when Jade’s plans fall through. And Kaitlyn Leeb is back, putting her veterinarian (and shooting) skills to good use.

As for photographs, there is a lot I cannot show you but I was still able to find a few... let me count... oh, what a coincidence - eleven pretty good images from this episode.

Tomorrow (Friday) I will have a very interesting first look at the "Forest for the Trees," which will really get you excited to watch this Sunday.

Two things I ask - 1) Watch this Sunday's new episode, and 2) Vote for Amber Marshall.

And of course your always faithful Blog Whisperer will return here next Thursday to get you all worked up over the next new Heartland episode. It's part of my job description.

Until then I shall remain, as always, obediently yours.
