Music For Nelson Mandela

Nelson Mandela was buried today in his South African hometown. His long battle against apartheid was inextricably linked with music. And World Music columnist Reuben Maan told us about some of the many musicians who supported Nelson Mandela's efforts through their lyrics.

Rokia Traoré

Rokia Traoré is an award-winning Malian singer, songwriter and guitarist. Her newest album is called "Beautiful Africa". And Reuben Maan told Karen Gordon all about Rokia and what prompted her latest recording.

Anoushka Shankar

Sitar player and composer Anoushka Shankar was Reuben's focus---Anoushka has just released an album called "Traces Of You" that's a tribute to her late father, Ravi Shankar.
