Recipe: Turkey Pepperoni Calzone

Up your homemade pizza game with these delicious calzones. They're made with turkey pepperoni and turkey bacon, so you'll save some calories while still getting your fix. Make them with your kids for a fun family activity!


1 lb pizza dough (whole wheat or plain)
175g Butterball Turkey Pepperoni
6 slices Butterball Turkey Bacon, cooked and chopped
1 cup tomato sauce
2 cups mozzarella cheese
2-3 cups baby spinach
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried oregano
salt and pepper (to taste)

Egg wash:
1 egg
1 tbsp milk


Divide pizza dough into 4 equal parts. Flatten out into circles 8-10 inches in diameter, about ½ inch thick. Divide sauce among 6 rounds of dough. Spread out, leaving 1 inch from border. Divide mozzarella cheese, spinach, turkey pepperoni and bacon on top of each round. Season with garlic powder, oregano and salt and pepper.

Fold in half and use a fork to press down and seal the edges. Whisk together egg and milk and brush on top of calzone.

Bake at 375F for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.

Optional toppings:

Goat cheese, chopped sundried tomatoes, black or green sliced olives, sliced roasted red peppers
