Student makes documentary on the challenges of heading south to study

It not easy for any student to be away from family and home for school in the south. That's exactly what Amanda Quinn from Mistissini went through. She is a student at John Abbott College. She will finish her Creative Arts and Digital Media Program this year. One of her assignments to complete her four year program was to make a documentary about school. 
Gerald Salt spoke with her about the documentary.

New digital project aim to bridge gaps between Natives and Non-Natives

CBC launched a new website on December 9 called CBC Aboriginal.
It aims to bring Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people together to discuss the hot topics in those communities.

Coon Come shares memories of meeting Mandela

mandela.jpgThe former president of South Africa died on December 5th, 2013, of a lung infection. Nelson Mandela was known throughout the world as a great leader who brought his people out of Apartheid. Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come had a chance to meet with him in 2002, while he was the Grand Chief of the Assembly of First Nations. In this conversation with Christopher Herodier, Matthew Coon Come reminices about that encounter.
