GCC supports Elsipogtog anti-fracking protesters

elsipogtog.jpgThe Mi'kmaq First Nation of Elsipogtog in New Brunswick has grabbed the attention of many across the country after the RCMP moved in on October 17th to dismantle anti-fracking blockades and arrested 40 people. For several weeks before that, protesters had been blocking the road to the site of a shale gas project that is on traditional Mi'kmaq territory. The Grand Council of the Crees has issued a statement of support for the people of Elsipogtog. Christopher Herodier spoke with Executive Director Bill Namagoose.
