Leaders meet to discuss agreements, governance

Cree leaders and representatives of the entities are heading to Val d'Or for a two-day meeting on the Cree nation's various agreements. They'll talk about everything from the JBNQA of 1975 to the Regional Governance Agreement that takes effect in January 2014. Christopher Herodier was there.

Fashion forward for Whapmagoostui designer

Rachel Kawapit from Whapmagoostui got to show off her talent at a fashion show in Mistissini when the Cree Women of Eeyou Istchee Association held its annual general assembly this fall. Christopher Herodier asked her about her gift and how she might want to develop it in the future.

Crees share development experience at Naturallia

A delegation from Eeyou Istchee is taking part in the Naturallia Conference in Sault St. Marie, where the main topic is mining and exploration activities in the Ring of Fire in Northwestern Ontario. Jim MacLeod is on the Cree Mineral Exploration Board. Christopher Herodier spoke with him about his participation in the Naturallia Conference.
