School board adds Cree history to curriculum

Cree School Board staff met in Val d'Or in late August to discuss adding a Cree History course as part of their curriculum. Abraham Jolly is the Director General of the Cree School Board. He spoke with Donovan Moses about the changes.

Nishiyuu gathering faces opposition from community members

gathering.jpgA gathering to celebrate and share traditional knowledge, called the Wapitiwaataou Nishiyuu Kishchuwin, will take place in Waskaganish September 10-13, 2013. But as organizer Stella Bearskin explained to CBC North's Gerald Salt, they are running into opposition from some community members over the use of the drum.

Bigfoot sighting reported near Eastmain

Many Crees have seen something they thought might be a bigfoot. Maybe it was just a brown blur in the bush... or eyes peering out from the darkness. Alvin Cheezo and his wife had just such an encounter. He spoke with Donovan Moses about what they saw.
