Candidates weigh in on income based transit fares

Thumbnail image for transit debate.jpgSome Montrealers are proposing a new way of deciding who gets a lower fare for public transportation. They want the STM to base fares on income levels. We put that proposition to the four main parties running in the upcoming election.

We spoke to Christian G. Dubois, mayoral candidate for Pierrefonds-Roxboro with Coalition Marcel Cote, Mary Ann Davis, mayoral candidate for Verdun with Projet Montreal, Harout Chitilian, who is running for city councillor with Team Coderre for the district of Bordeaux-Cartierville in Ahuntsic-Cartierville, and Mathieu Bélanger, who is running for city councillor in the Champlain-L'Île-des-Sœurs district with Groupe Melanie Joly.
