Visible minorities invisible in Quebec cinema?

Cadet_Angelo.jpgMontreal filmmaker Jacob Tierney has sparked a big debate with his comments on the representation - or lack thereof - of visible minorities in Quebec films.

"Quebec society is extremely turned in on itself," he told La Presse newspaper. "Our art and our culture shows only white francophones.  Anglophones and immigrants are ignored.  They have no place in the québécois dream. It's shameful."

Daybreak invited two industry insiders to share their reaction to Tierney's comments.

François Côté is the President of the Association des réalisateurs et réalisatrices du Québec.
