THE INTERVIEWS: Blackfoot Repatriation | Feminism @ Calgary Comic Expo



Daybreak Alberta host Chris dela Torre spoke to Blackfoot elder, Frank Weasel Head, an instrumental figure in the complex and often controversial repatriation of sacred artifacts from various museums. His work in helping the Blackfoot community procure more than fifty medicinal bundles from the Glenbow Museum is detailed in the new book We Are Coming Home: Repatriation and The Restoration of Blackfoot Cultural Confidence.

This weekend's Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo is not just about meeting your favourite TV stars or dressing up as your favourite pop culture character. In a panel called "Social Responsibility and Feminism in Pop Media", University of Calgary student Pamela Hyde will read part of her undergrad thesis about the roles of certain female characters in the hit TV shows Grey's Anatomy, Mad Men and The Good Wife.
