Ice fishing at L'Anse-à-Benjamin

The CBC's Marika Wheeler is back on the road again gathering stories. Jacquie reached her on the ice at L'Anse-à-Benjamin on the Saguenay fjord near Chicoutimi. Marika stayed warm in an ice hut on the ice with les Frères Dubé, and told us how the fishing was going this afternoon. She also tells us what stories she'll be sharing with us throughout the month of January.

Boutique Louise Charette celebrates rich ski history

The name "Charette" is a familiar one in the Mont Tremblant area of the Laurentians: one of the first directors of the Ski School at Grey Rocks was Réal Charette. The family name now proudly hangs above his daughter Louise's boutique on the main street in St. Jovite. CBC's Marika Wheeler met Louise Charette at the store she has been running for 26 years now, and shows us how the family celebrates the region's rich ski heritage.
