Quebec City's Turkey Can Challenge

The Turkey Can challenge has raised thousands of dollars for people in need over the years. This year, CBC Quebec is sweetening the pot by offering a prize to the classroom that raises the most money.  Ainslie MacLellan joined Jacquie in studio with the details.

Volunteer Opportunities

Hampervolunteers.jpgThere are lots of opportunities for you to lend a helping hand to the Quebec City Community Christmas Hamper Campaign.

Volunteers are needed for the following shifts (*times in bold indicate a shift where more volunteers are required):

 

 Wednesday, December 18th

1:00 - 2:30 p.m Unload non-perishable food donations from collection truck to Hamper hamper distribution center - CEGEP St. Lawrence

2:00 - 9 p.m Transport foods to designated room for sorting

Thursday, December 19th

12:00 - 4:00 p.m Unload perishables (frozen turkeys & fresh produce) from delivery trucks 

Friday, December 20th

 1:00 - 4:30 p.m. Hamper packing crew needed to place purchased and donated food items into Hampers boxes for families.

Saturday, December 21st

8:30 - 11:30 Load delivering cars with Hampers.

Teams of drivers and helpers with strong backs needed to deliver Hampers from the main center CEGEP St. Lawrence to homes of families in need. 30 drivers are needed, so if you have a car, your help is greatly appreciated! Morning coffee, map and instructions are provided.

Shifts:

8:30 a.m

9:00 a.m

9:30 a.m
