Shari Lapena was a lawyer in Toronto before writing her bestselling thriller The Couple Next Door.

Toronto lawyer Shari Lapena's writing career took off when she turned to thrillers. Her first, The Couple Next Door, was a runaway hit when published in 2016, making the New York Times Best Sellers list. She has since published A Stranger in the House and will be releasing her next book An Unwanted Guest in August of 2018. In a few short years, Lapena has made a name for herself in the world of domestic noir. Lapena is also the author of the novels Things Go Flying and Happiness Economics.
