Season 2 of Anne with an E premieres Sept. 23 on CBC

The series is inspired by the timeless Canadian classic Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Anne with an E, inspired by the classic Canadian novel Anne of Green Gables by Lucy Maud Montgomery, is coming back for 10 episodes on CBC-TV this fall.

The second season will premiere on Sept. 23, 2018.

Amybeth McNulty returns to star as Anne Shirley Cuthbert, with creator Moira Walley-Beckett again at the helm. The first season won the Canadian Screen Award for best drama series.

The second season will introduce new characters, including Sebastian Lacroix, played by Dalmar Abuzeid, and Cole MacKenzie, played by Cory Grüter-Andrew.

Anne of Green Gables follows a bold, red-headed orphan living with an elderly brother and sister Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert in Prince Edward Island. It was first published in 1908 and became an immediate bestseller.
