Ruth Ozeki is an American-Canadian author, filmmaker and Buddhist priest. Her documentary films have appeared on PBS and at the Sundance Film Festival.

Ozeki debuted with the novel My Year of Meats in 1998. Her book A Tale for the Time Being was shortlisted for the 2013 Man Booker Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction. She is also the author of novel All Over Creation and the autobiographical The Face: A Time Code. In 2007, she worked on a collaborative fiction book called Click with various other writers.
