Rohinton Mistry is the author of three classic novels — Family Matters, A Fine Balance and Such a Long Journey — all of which were shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize. In 1995, he won the Scotiabank Giller Prize for A Fine Balance, which follows the lives of four people as they become enmeshed in the political turmoil of mid-1970s India. In 2013, A Fine Balance was selected by the public as the greatest Giller Prize-winning book of the past 20 years, and was named the Giller of all Gillers.
