Canada Reads 2019 is coming. Here's what you need to know to get ready for the next edition of CBC's battle of the books.

Ali Hassan is back as host of Canada Reads 2019! Ali Hassan is an actor, comedian, the host of CBC Radio's Laugh Out Loud and is a frequent guest-host of q. This will be his third time hosting Canada Reads.

The longlist will be revealed on Jan. 10, 2019. 

The final five books and the panellists who will be defending them will be revealed on Jan. 31, 2019.

The debates will take place March 25-28, 2019. 

Forgiveness by Mark Sakamoto won Canada Reads 2018. It was defended by fashion and broadcasting icon Jeanne Beker.
